Testimonial: "Paddling and Pedaling - SurfSki RAD Enthusiast".   Rad Enthusiast

My initial impression is that RAD Endurance powder mixes easily (and stays mixed), tastes good, not too sweet or bitter in ambient water, but prefer to mix in hot water (better in cool mornings and after rainy wet rides).  I have a sensitive stomach and can’t handle most sports drinks, but RAD is no problem.

I received the RAD Endurance powder just prior to the US SurfSki Championships held at Crissy Field, San Francisco, CA., Sept 29-30, 2007.  I participated in the long course (16 miles) which consisted of Bay and open ocean water, swift currants, wind, confusing seas, bright sunshine, and other vessel traffic, on an absolutely beautiful weekend (Sunshine in SF?).  A SurfSki is a sit-on-top, water craft (kayak) approx 21 feet long and about 17 inches wide. The sport originated in South Africa and Australia.

I mixed up a couple of batches RAD Endurance prior to the race, then an additional two packets which were placed in a water bottle to take with me for during the event (see photo). After a difficult start due to stiff incoming current and rough seas around the buoys, I calmed down, felt good through the entire race and had plenty of energy - attributed to your RAD Endurance drink.

Sunday, we had a relay race consisting of a water launch, 2-mile sprint, and then a beach landing with a run-down-the-beach to tag the next contestant.  I arose early and mixed up a batch of RAD half an hour before the event began.  Being the first to compete, I went out for a couple practice laps.  During the race I was able to catch the contestant in front of me on the upwind leg and at the finish of the race, I was pulling strong and felt great, thanks to RAD.

I’ve since been using RAD on several bike rides, and noticed that on my two times-a-week, after-work commute (of 27 miles) I have actually gotten faster, from 1 hour: 50 minutes to 1 hour:45 minutes, and even hit 1 hour: 39 minutes the other day.  Also, I have not been experiencing the "crash" after the ride! Again, I attribute this to RAD, and as I mentioned, I prefer to drink it hot, almost like tea.

This coming weekend I am doing a 10 mile benefit paddle race using a Hobie kayak with he pedal drive, thus combining paddling and pedaling at the same time. I’ll definitely be using RAD Endurance drink mix prior, during, and after the event.
